Grades 4, 5, and 6 participated in Career Day. We had approximately 30 speakers, who shared their professional journeys and experiences. The students heard from flight attendants, engineers, news reporters, police officers, chefs, and much more. They learned valuable lessons about hard work and educational requirements of each speaker.Uploaded Feb 26, 2016
We are happy to announce our school has been selected as a "CFES School of Distinction", based upon our performance during the 2014-2015 school year.
Achievement of School of Distinction status is testimony that AAES involved the entire school in the CFES core practices of Mentoring, Leadership Through Service, and Pathways to college.
Hawaii is among 18 member states (plus the U.S. Virgin Islands) leading a Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium that developed a new assessment system to measure whether students are meeting the Common Core for Mathematics and English Language Arts/Literacy (ELA), and are on-track for college and career readiness. Hawaii students in grades 3-8 and 11 took the summative Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) for the first time in spring 2015.
