About Us

Located in the historic plantation town of Waipahu on the island of Oʻahu, August Ahrens Elementary School has been serving students since 1924. Named after the first manager of the Oahu Sugar Company, the school has grown from its original campus of 605 students and 13 teachers to one of Hawaiʻi's largest single-track elementary schools, now serving nearly 1,200 students across a 14-acre campus. With a dedicated team of approximately 200 faculty and staff members, AAES continues its tradition of fostering academic excellence, personal growth, and lifelong learning.
